A golden hand emerges from behind theatrical curtains, as if from the backstage of a grand performance. Five thin nylon strings hang from its fingers, each connected to small cubes marked with recognizable app logos—Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, TikTok. The hand appears to control them like a puppeteer, yet the paint flows upward, defying gravity, suggesting the opposite: the apps are taking control.
The stage metaphor, combined with the reversed direction of manipulation, poses a critical question—who is truly pulling the strings in our hyperconnected lives? The small drops of paint that climb the threads symbolize a slow but steady reversal: what we once created to serve us now begins to dictate our behavior, time, and attention.
The cube faces spell out “FIXYT,” a constructed acronym using app initials, hinting at a digital system that appears entertaining or useful but is, in effect, fixing us in place—psychologically, socially, and emotionally.
